Reading an old photography magazine this morning, I came across an article about Robert Mapplethorpe's flower studies. I decided to try and emulate his style. I would've liked to use Lillies, but as the supermarkets of Spennymoor aren't quite that sophisticated yet, I had to use some tulips instead. A nice simple one. You can just about see the card getting a bit lighter towards the right hand side, where the light was coming from.
This was done with all natural light from a north facing window, using a 1.5x1.5m polystyrene board as a nice, lightwight handheld 'waftaboutable' reflector.
