The day started at 12.00 (lol). Steve, Tom, Dan and Chris were playing some sort of computer/drinking game, but I had chosed not to, for reasons of hepatoamory (I love my liver). I did, however, promise to put in an appearance at some point, which I did after watching a film and a spot of photo editing. It was most entertaining in Tom's room. I won't go into the details of the game (yawn) but we did have to stop Steve drinking at one point, as he was getting rather too drunk.

Went to bed at about 4.30. Its a sure sign that you're too late going to bed when you put off your bedside lamp to find daylight coming in through the curtians. Eeek.

Got up at about 11AM, had some lunch, did some tidying preparatory to packing.

To celebrate the end of term, Steve had organised a barbeque at his house in Kingston Park. We met at about 3PM, and took the metro to KP Tesco to pick up some meat and disposable BBQs. It was raining. Not good. It stopped though. Which was better.

Steve's mam had prepared a buffet, which was awfully kind of her, I thought. We set about lighting the barbeques, and my expertise as a scout leader was called upon when the first disposable failed to perform. It appeared that the charcoal had not taken light. The second one was modified with some airholes to increase ventilation, and I wafted furiously in an attempt to increase the temperature. It was going well, then all of a sudden, it violently extinguished. It just went 'op', and started smoking. At this moment, I uttered those fatal barbequcidal words 'Steve, go and put the grill on".

I volunteered to cook, for reasons of microbiologal concern. It was fun. We had burgers, sausages, pizza, garlic bread, pavlova . . . . you get the idea. We thanked Steves parentage (?!) and moved on to a delightful pub in Gosforth. After a few drinks, we headed back to the city on the metro, deciding on the way that would walk Hevy (Heather) home. She lives in Fenham (we simply call it "the 'nam" around here, lol). She invited us in, we made the fatal mistake of sitting down, and we stayed for about two hours, leaving at 3.30AM.

A really really good day - I'll look back on this day, I hope, for many months to come.
